Scarlet Fever Claims Two
The two children of Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Kruse have succumbed to the dreadful disease of scarlet fever. The grief surrounding the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kruse is unmeasurable and is so appalling that strong hearts have been unnerved by sympathy for the grief stricken parents whose only comfort can be that God takes the innocent from our midst to punish the wicked, for in his great book he says, "Suffer little children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." It is only the hearts of true fathers and mothers that can ache in sympathy with the bereft family at the sudden loss of their dearly beloved ones.
Dickie was born January 2nd, 1903 and died March 18th, 1912 at the age of 9 years, 2 months and 16 days. He was a loving dutiful child and was loved by all who knew him.
Vernie, the little girl, was born August 4th, 1905 and died March 19th, 1912 at the age of 7 years, 7 months and 15 days. She was thoughtful and reliable beyond her years.
Their voices so sweet are hushed and stilled.
They rest in peace above,
Their place on earth can ne'er be filled,
Their life was one of love.
They rest in peace so we rejoice
Though tears are in our eyes,
We seem to hear their angel voices
Singing in Paradise.
