Darlene Mae Heetland, 65, of Ackley, died December 9 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Funeral services were December 13 at Faith Presbyterian Church, Ackley. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for mission work.

Darlene was born May 16, 1938, the daughter of Alvin and Grace (Muller) Stahl. She received her education in country school and graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1956. After graduation she worked at the Grundy Center grocery store. She was married to Virgil Heetland on December 15, 1959. She was a homemaker and farm wife. She worked in the activities department at the Presbyterian Village and at the Muller's Tea Room after that. She was most recently employed at the Sietsema Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter; four sons; 10 grandchildren; her parents, Alvin and Grace Stahl of Grundy Center; and three brothers, Larry Stahl and his wife Carolyn and Dennis Stahl and his wife Margaret, all of Grundy Center, and Curtis Stahl and his wife Peg of Holland.
