Mrs. Meint Tjaden Fatally Stricken By Heart Attack

Mrs. Meint Tajden passed away suddenly Saturday evening at 6 o'clock. Death was due to a heart attack.

She, with members of her family, had been in Marshalltown in the afternoon shopping and on returning home as she stepped in the house she suffered a heart attack and died instantly.

Mrs. Tjaden was born February 22, 1888, at Holland, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harm Frerichs. She attended school in Holland and later moved with her parents to Wellsburg. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 16.

She was married to Meint Tajden in Wellsburg on Aug. 15, 1905, and they lived in Wellsburg most of their married life.

She is survived by her husband and one daughter Dorothy, Mrs. John Schalk of Davenport, Iowa; two sons, Russell and Mayo, of Wellsburg; four grandchildren, Steven Schalk, Tommy Tjaden and Darryl and Douglas Tjaden. Also two brothers, W. H. Frerichs, of Osage, and Fritz Frerichs of Santa Monica, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. John Dirks, Mrs. John Boven and Miss Susie Frerichs of Bristow.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Genevieve who died in 1935, her parents, and five sisters, Mrs. Sophia Stahl, Mrs. Tillie Buss and Mrs. Kate Lingelbach and two sisters in infancy.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 at the home and at 2 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Wolff in charge. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edward Frerichs, Sidney Frerichs, Edwin Brower, Glen Peters, John C. Tjaden and Woodrow. Honorary pallbearers were John T. Riekena, Kenneth Dilly, Wallace Meyer, Rev. Oliver Buus and Bernard Buus.

Special music for the funeral service was furnished by Mrs. Edwin Peters, Mrs. Walter Block, Carol DeNeui, Eileen DeNeui, Donald Gummert, Ronald DeNeui, John Heinrich and George Sietsema, Jr. Organist was Mrs. Gordon Junker.

Flower attendants were Mrs. John Kruse and Mrs. Tom Claassen.

Ernest DeNeui and Norman Harms served as ushers.
