Rites Held For Ex-Supervisor Art Miller, 69
Arthur H. Miller, 69, a former member of the Grundy county board of supervisors, died February 13 from complication resulting from heart disease.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ackley Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Floyd DeBoer officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery at Wellsurg.
Pall bearers were Edd Ites, Lowell Dohlman, Alvin Johnson, Harm Nienoord, Mike VanHove and Dennis Miller.
Mr. Miller was born in German township, Grundy county, on March 11, 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Miller.
He lived most of his life at Buck Grove, in Pleasant Valley township, where he owned and operated a produce and feed business.
Mr. Miller served four terms as a member of the Grundy county board of supervisors. He also had been a Hardin County Highway Department employee, and spent his last few years working for the city of Ackley as the swimming pool manager, and for the city park and street department.
He was a member of the Ackley Christian Reformed Church.
Mr. Miller, who had lived in Ackley since 1970, was retired at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter.
