Mrs. Harm Kruse Dies at Her Home

Mrs. Harm A. Kruse died Sunday morning at her home in Steamboat Rock. Death followed a stroke. The body was brought to the Doyen Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements were made.

Services were Wednesday afternoon, May 18, at the First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock with Rev. E. H. Buschman and Rev. Kurt Marquart officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh cemetery at Wellsburg. Music by Gordon Daleske, soloist; Mrs. George Potgeter, organist. Casketbearers were William Harms, Ed Frerichs, Ray Karsjens, Pete Luiken, Walter Steinfeldt and Hollis Havens.

Obituary
Mrs. Harm A. Kruse, nee Anna Sievers, was born on August 15, 1878, in German Township, Grundy County, Iowa, and passed away May 15, 1960, at her home. She attained the age of 81 years, 9 months.

On February 21, 1901, she was united in marriage to Mr. Harm A. Kruse. They made their home together first on a farm in Pleasant Valley township where they lived for 6 years. They then moved to a farm in German township where they lived until June of 1936, at which time they moved to Steamboat Rock for their retirement.

After the passing of Mr. Kruse on December 12, 1945, she lived alone until 1956, when her son Martin and family made their home with her. She was blest with many days of joy and fair health. About a year and a half ago her health began to fail. She was called to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, May 15, 1960, suffering from a stroke. She was a member of the St. Peter's E. & R. Church, northwest of Wellsburg since her early days. At her passing she leaves to mourn her sons, they are Albert H. Kruse of Ackley, John Kruse of Wellsburg, and Martin Kruse of Steamboat Rock. Also one sister, Mrs. Fenno Conraads of Milbank, S. Dak., and seven grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Cornelia (Mrs. George Harms), one infant brother and two sisters.
