John Krull Rites On Saturday; Dies Following Illness

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Doyen Funeral Home and later in the Second Christian Reformed church for John Krull Sr., 74, who died the previous Tuesday at the home of a daughter in Eldora. He had been in failing health for some time.

Burial was in the Shiloh cemetery on the south edge of town, with Rev. Bernard Visscher in charge of the service.

Casketbearers were Lee Etjen, Tyle Huisman, Henry Hippen, Lester Huisman, Bryan Huisman and John T. Riekena.

Music for the funeral was furnished by the men's quartet--Henry W. Ross, Adolph Deters, Henry Kannegieter and Henry Vanderzyden. Organist was Mrs. Wilbur Knock, while Mrs. Ray Toomsen played the piano.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Ben Peters and Mrs. John T. Riekena.

Obituary
John Krull was born Jan. 24, 1882, in Germany. Twenty years later, on March 3, 1902, he was united in marriage to Minnie Abbas by Rev. H. Schmitt, pastor at the East Friesland Presbyterian church, in the home of the bride's parents, northwest of Wellsburg.

The couple resided on a farm near Faulkner following their marriage, then moved to Cleves. They also farmed a year near Wellsburg before moving to town where they retired.

Survivors include seven children: George of Parkersburg, John Jr., Alfred and Aeilt, all of Wellsburg; Mrs. Leslie R. Holcomb of Eldora; Mrs. Charles Dunn of Algona; and Mrs. Grace Trailer of Vallejo, Calif.

Also 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, a brother, Aeilt Krull; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Abbas and Mrs. Menno Harms, all of Ackley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Henry, April 13, 1942; an infant son who died at the age of two, Aeilt. Mrs. Krull passed away Sept. 16, 1955.
