Family Mourns The Passing Of Anna Huisman
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna J. Huisman were held on Saturday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Pastor Roger Huitink officiated at the services.
Richard Schafer sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Harvin Meyer, organist and accompanist.
Flower attendants were Mrs. Luella Lindaman and Mrs. Arnold Arends.
Casket bearers were Keith Huisman, Ted VanDeest, Donald Dimke, Andrew Kadous, William Kadous, and Arlo Sherburne. The interment service was held in Shiloh Cemetery at Wellsburg.
Mrs. Huisman passed away early Wednesday morning, October 22, at her home in Wellsburg due to an apparent heart attack. She reached the age of 80 years, six months and 21 days.
She was born Anna Johanna Kadous in April, 1906, in Aplington, the daughter of Wilhelm and Johanna (Harms) Kadous and received her education in the Aplington Public School. On March 5, 1923, she was married to Bryan Huisman at Aplington. Following their marriage they made their home in Wellsburg where they lived all their married life. Her husband passed away on June 1st of this year.
Mrs. Huisman was a long-time member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church.
Preceding her in death were: her parents, two daughters, Esther Johanna, who passed away on April 10, 1926, and Dorothy, who passed away on February 2, 1947; a son in infancy; six brothers and two sisters.
Those left to mourn her passing are three daughters, Thelma (Mrs. Robert) Willems of Ackley, Beverly (Mrs. Richard) Pugh of Alden, and Bonnie (Mrs. Edward) Christians of Wellsburg, 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
