Rites Held For Fern Hook Moore

Services for Fern Hook Moore, 69, of 301 Thelma Street, Hudson, were held Friday, March 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. The interment service was held in Shiloh cemetery at Wellsburg.

She died Tuesday, February 26 at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo.

She was born October 16, 1915, in Grundy county, the daughter of Julius and Grace Wilts Heikens. She married Lester A. Hook December 17, 1936 at Wellsburg. He died June 28, 1974. She then married Roger Moore on February 14, 1984 at Nashua.

She was a graduate of the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and was manager of Park Towers in Waterloo for 13 years, before retiring in April of 1983.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Steve Hook of Wellsburg; a brother, Julius Heikens of Ackley; four stepdaughters, Cathleen Stockwell of Houston, TX, Mary Lynn Fremont and Jackie Berggren, both of Cedar Falls; and Maurine Bitterman of Spokane, WA; and two grandchildren.
