CONRAD, IA.—Paul Franzenburg, sr., 82, widely known meat merchant, died Thursday afternoon in Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown.

He was president and founder of the Franzenburg Provision Co., distributing Wolf Creek Smokehouse products.

Mr. Franzenburg was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to Traer in 1903 when he became associated with a brother in the meat business. Later Mr. Franzenburg was in business in Dysart, Durant, Pierson, Kingsley and Manning. He lived in Conrad continuously since 1934.

Mr. Franzenburg, a widower, is survived by a son, Paul, jr.; two stepsons, James Watkins of Kingsley and Hubert Watkins of Omaha, Neb.; four daughters, Mrs. Max Belz, Walker; Mrs. Jack Katzenmeyer, Rocky River, Ohio; Mrs. Russell Koepke, of Plymouth, Mich.; and Mrs. Rudolph Schmidt of Crevecoeur, Mo.; and one sister, Mrs. Carl Sodergreen, of Husum, Germany.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Conrad Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Conrad cemetery.
