Harry Pixler Services Held

Harry Virgil Pixler died Tuesday, August 26, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of natural causes.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 29, at 1 p.m. at the Eldora Christian Church in Eldora. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg. Rev. William "Wil" Dilsaver officiated. Military rites were performed by the Ashing-Jaspers American Legion Post #213 of Steamboat Rock.

Pallbearers were Richard Butters, Hollis Haven, Paul Primus, Arnie Luiken, Rex Heard and Chet Tabor.

A memorial fund has been established.

Harry was born September 5, 1918, in Steamboat Rock, the son of Harry and Nora (Hutzel) Pixler. On July 6, 1940, he was united in marriage with Anna Marie Peters at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Harry was a retired painter.

Harry was a member of the Eldora Christian Church in Eldora and the Ashing-Jaspers American Legion Post #213 of Steamboat Rock.

Survivors include his wife Anna Marie Pixler of Eldra; 2 sons, Virgil and wife Ann of Waterloo and Gordon and wife Mary of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Harriet and husband Bob Peterson of Clear Lake; and 10 grandchildren.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
