Gladyce Riekena Korte Is Victim Of Heart Attack

Mrs. Elmer (Gladyce) Korte, 50, of Kamrar, and a former Wellsburg resident, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1975 from an apparent heart attack. She was dead on arrival at the Story County Memorial hospital in Story City.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 10, 1975 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kamrar with Rev. Marvin Camp in charge. Steve Robertson was soloist. Mrs. Irene Fonken was organist. Pall bearers were Kenneth DeBower, Roger Eilderts, Darwin Harms, Daryl Harms, Leon Korte and Robert Riebkes. Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Shiloh cemetery in Wellsburg.

Mrs. Korte was born Gladys Diane Riekena, on July 26, 1925, at Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Wiert and Albertha (Ross) Riekena. She was reared and educated at Wellsburg and graduated from the Wellsburg high school in 1943. On September 9, 1944 she was united in marriage to Elmer Korte at Dumont. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Korte resided in Parkersburg. The family had lived in Kamrar for the past 15 years. Mrs. Korte was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Kamrar.

Survivors are her husband, 3 daughters and 3 sons; Mrs. Karla Marsh of Oxford; Karl Korte of Des Moines; Keith Korte of Webster City; Kurtis Korte of Oskaloosa; Karmen Korte of Oregon, MO.; Kayleen Korte of Webster City; 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Harms of Ackley, Mrs. Raymond (Arlene) Junker of Ackley; and 1 brother, Willard Riekena of Hampton.

Preceding the deceased in death was one daughter, Angela Fay, in infancy, and her parents.

Foster Funeral Home of Webster City was in charge of the services.
