Reinbeck—Funeral services for George W. Diamond, 86, who died at the home of his son, Earl, in Eagle township, Black Hawk county, Saturday, were here Monday; born in Ogle county, Ill., on March 18, 1858, son of William and Isabell Diamond; at an early age he came to Faulkner, Ia., where in Nov., 1879, he married Lovira Pattee; leaves two sons, William, Faulkner, and Earl, living in the Eagle Center neighborhood; five grandchildren, including Lt. Dorothea Diamond, with army nurse corps in the southwest Pacific, and Pvt. Kenneth Diamond, with the U.S. armed forces; also leaves five great-grandchildren; wife preceded him in 1920.
