Mrs. H. Heronimus Died Thursday

Mrs. Alice Heronimus, 89, died Thursday afternoon at the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Aplington. Services were Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church with burial in the Colfax Center cemetery.

Born Dec. 6, 1881, in Germany, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arend Franken. She was united in marriage to Heye Heronimus Feb. 7, 1900. They farmed in the Holland vicinity and then moved to Holland in 1931. Mr. Heronimus died April 12, 1966.

Mrs. Heronimus was a resident of the Storey Custodial Home in Grundy Center for two years and has been in the Aplington nursing home since last April.

She is survived by three sons, Tom, Holland; Paul, El Paso, Texas; and George, Holland; nine daughters, Mrs. Hazel Abels, Holland; Mrs. Gertrude Hansen, Marshalltown; Mrs. John (Ella) Paterni, Grundy Center; Mrs. Harold (Tena) Schoon, Holland; Miss Lillian Heronimus, Grundy Center; Mrs. Alfred (Mae) Brower, Hampton; Mrs. Henry (Em) Siefken, Grundy Center; Mrs. Deloris Bakker, Grundy Center; and Mrs. John (Iva Dean) Itzen, Cedar Falls; one sister, Mrs. Ben P. Heronimus, Holland; one brother, Tom Dreesman, Holland; 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son, 1 grandson, 5 sisters and 2 step-brothers.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
