Henry Buskohl Died At Age 81
Henry Buskohl, 81, of 1108 G Avenue, Grundy Center, died Saturday, February 14, 1976 at 11:20 a.m. at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo, where he had been a patient four days.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jerry VanCurler officiating. Mrs. Tom Simms sang "Nearer My God To Thee" and "I Don't Have To Cross Jordan Alone." She was accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Hinders. Pallbearers were Benjamin Groote, Bernard Buskohl, Jake Walters, Freeman Groote, Jake Buskohl and John Buskohl. Harm G. Hook and Milf Meyers were ushers. Mrs. Melvin Flater and Miss Irene Schmidt were in charge of floral arrangements. Burial was in the Colfax Center cemetery, rural Holland.
He was born May 4, 1894, in Holland, Iowa ,the son of Behrend and Leison Buskohl. On March 14, 1924 he was united in marriage to Fannie Groote at the Harm Groote farm home. Following their marriage they farmed north of Morrison, moving later to a farm south of Dike where they remained until 1974 when they moved to their home in Grundy Center.
Mr. Buskohl is survived by his wife Fannie, one foster daughter, Mrs. Anna Mae Tucker of Long Beach, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. He was the last member of the Buskohl family to succumb.
The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
