Bess Wylam Boldt, 100, of Kinston, N.C., died Friday, June 28, at Guardian Care Nursing Center, Kinston.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery, rural Grundy Center, with the Rev. Kenneth Campbell of First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, officiating. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, Jesup.

She was born Nov. 10, 1895, in Bremer County, Iowa, to Edward J. and Sarah E. Cutshaw Wylam. She graduated from high school and from Iowa Normal School, Cedar Falls. She taught school until marrying Jurgen B. Boldt July 16, 1923, at Nashua. They moved to Jesup in 1928, where she operated the Jesup Mercantile General Store until 1950.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jesup, past worthy matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Even Dozen Study Club, Every Other Friday Club and a founder of the Garden Club. She was a charter member of the Jesup library board.

Survivors include two sons, E. Dean of Cleveland, Tenn., and Donald of Kinston; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1970, a brother and five sisters.
