Ella Ralston Services Held
Ella Ralston, of Morrison, passed away Thursday, February 3, at the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center, of natural causes, having attained the age of 93 years, 1 month and 12 days.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 7, at the Alice Church of God in rural Conrad at 10 a.m. with Pastor Donald Ralston officiating.
Pallbearers were David Strickler, Steve Ralston, Scott Ralston, Jim Freed, Tom Freed, and Larry Bockes.
Burial followed in the Alice Church Cemetery, rural Conrad.
A memorial fund has been established.
Ella Louise Ralston was born December 22, 1900, near Holland, the daughter of Lucas and Carrie Abels. She grew up and received her education in Palermo Township, Grundy County. Ella was united in marriage to Clayton Ralston on December 24, 1918, in Grundy Center.
Ella and Clayton farmed in the Grundy, Lincoln, and Morrison area. Following Clayton's death in 1965, Ella continued to farm for two years, and then made her home in Morrison. She became a resident of the Grundy Care Center, Grundy Center, on November 16, 1993.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; 2 sons, Clarence and Victor; 1 daughter, Lois Jean Ralston; her parents; 1 brother, Henry W. Abels; 5 sisters, Reka Bockes, Frieda Freed, Margaret Abels, Bernice Abels and Harmanda Abels; and one infant grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Henry of Damascus, VA; one son, Maurell Ralston of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
