Rev. Primrose Dies In West
Rev. J. W. Primrose, who for many years served as pastor of the Church of God at Alice, died last Sunday at San Jose, Calif., after a long illness. He was 72 years old. He had moved a little over three years ago from Waterloo to make his home in California.

The body is being sent back to Grundy county for burial in the Alice church cemetery. Funeral services will be at the Alice church Friday afternoon.Rev. Primrose was born in Benton county, the son of William and Deborah Primrose. The Rev. Mr. Primrose married on July 4, 1905, May Hess of Grundy county, who survives with five daughters, Mrs. Tabitha Eastman and Muriel Primrose, San Jose, Mrs. Thelma Roberts, 401 Quincy St., Waterloo, Mrs. Ruth Turner, of Brooksville, Ky., and Miriam, Des Moines; four sons, Myron, Rt. 6 Waterloo, Gaylord, Ferguson, Iowa, Rev. Will Fred, Plattsburg, O., two sisters, Mrs. Etta Conger, 1710 Olive Street, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Mary Bordwell, Vinton; and 19 grandchildren.
The Rev. Mr. Primrose held pastorates in several states before taking up farming combined with the pastorate of the Alice church between Grundy Center and Conrad, from where he moved to the farm home near Waterloo in 1937.
