J. N. Green of Felix, father of Mrs. J. B. Sherbon, died at his home, yesterday morning, and the funeral will take place tomorrow, conducted by Rev. J. H. Cakerice of the German Baptist church.

James Weaver Green was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, May 10, 1814 and died at his home in Grundy county, Iowa, April 13, 1896, being 81 years 11 months and 3 days old. He was married in 1839 to his surviving wife. In 1843 he was converted and soon united with the church of God and lived a christian life up to his death. As he felt the end approaching he sang the old hymns such as "Vital sparks of heavenly fire," etc. As consciousness began to slip away he said: "Home, going home." He suffered the most intense pain all through his last sickness, which lasted five weeks. His trouble was la grippe. The remains were laid to rest in the Alice cemetery.
