John Hess Services Held Wednesday

John M. Hess passed away Monday morning at the Tower Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa. He had been a resident there for about a year and a half.

He was born January 7, 1877, in Grundy county. Parents were Fred and Tabitha (Klein) Hess. He was 95 years old. He left Conrad about 5 years ago.

He is survived by one son, Walter of Oskaloosa, 3 daughters, Mrs. Bernice Smith, Garden Grove, Cal., Mrs. Maurice (Rosemary) Hull, Oskaloosa and Mrs. Marian Jacobs, Conrad; one sister, Mrs. May Primrose, Waterloo, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, 2 daughters, 2 sisters, 2 brothers.

Services were Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. Johnston Funeral Home. Rev. H. L. Heim officiated. Burial was in Alice cemetery.

Johnston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
