Rites Held For Nellie Heltibridle

Nellie Heltibridle, 86, of Grundy Center, passed away on Friday, November 28, at the Long Term Care Unit of Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center of natural causes.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Alice Church of God, rural Conrad. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pastor James Snare officiated the service. A memorial fund has been established.

Pallbearers were Clint Heltibridle, Jeff Heltibridle, Mike Kjormoe, Todd Hansen, Clay Heltibridle, Jeremy Heltibridle and Jim Opperman.

Nellie was born on May 15, 1911, in Grundy County the daughter of Jacob and Eva (Bockes) Chew. She was united in marriage to Dwight Heltibridle on November 26, 1937, in Grundy Center by Rev. E. E. Heltibridle. They made their home on a farm southwest of Grundy Center until 1977 when they moved and made their home in Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight in 1988; her parents; 2 sisters, Sadie Chew and Bertha Frieling; and 1 brother in infancy.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Hansen and husband Larry of Grundy Center; 2 sons, Donovan Heltibridle and wife Jeanne of Fowler, Colorado and Darwin Heltibridle and wife Janet of Reinbeck; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-granddaughters.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the arrangements.
