Alva A. Heltibridle, 90, of 913 Willow Street, Iowa City, died Saturday, Oct. 15 following an extended illness.

Graveside services were held the following Monday at 2 p.m. at Alice Cemetery, rural Grundy Center.

He was born July 31, 1887, in Cedar County near Tipton to the Rev. Edward and Louella Kinnan Heltibridle. His father was a minister in the North Liberty area for many years before the family moved to Conrad. On January 25, 1910, he married Fern Sherbon. She died in May 1940. On July 29, 1949, he married Meryl Springmire. He farmed near Grundy Center, moving to Iowa City many years ago.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Chester (Margaret) Skinner of Bradenton, Fla.; Mrs. Floyd (Helen) Thompson, and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Haskell, both of Waterloo; and Mrs. Noel (Lois) Bern of Reinbeck; one son, Glen of Alton, Ill.; one brother, Harry of Steamboat Rock; one sister, Mrs. Addison (Mary) Alspach of Duluth, Minn.; and 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph.
