Leroy William, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Bockes, was born September 18, 1899, and died March 29, 1900, aged 6 months and 12 days. The funeral occurred Saturday last at two o'clock at the Alice church. A large number of relatives and friends were present. The services were conducted by Rev. J. C. Kepford, using for his text verses 13-15 of the 103d Psalm.

Thus you came in mild September,
Filling hearts with joy and gladness,
E'er the frosts had browned the meadows
Robbing us of buds and blossoms.

Thus you came, to cheer and gladden
Through the lonely months of winter,
With your little face so heavenly
And your hands so soft and dimpled.

Though a wee mite of a mortal
Yet how large a place thou fillest
In the hearts of those that knew thee,
For you had our love and pity.

But you've left us sad and lonely,
Yours was but an angel's visit,
But we feel thou had a mission
'Twas to draw our heartstrings to thee.

'Twas to bind our hearts so firmly,
Then to fly away to Jesus,
Beckoning with baby hands
That we follow thee to heaven.
