Dale E. Bockes, 67, of RR1, Grundy Center, died Monday evening, June 27, at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital East.

Services will be held Thursday afternoon, June 30, 1977, at 1:30 in the Alice Church of God with Rev. H. L. Heim officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Dale was born March 16, 1910, in the Alice neighborhood, north of Conrad, the son of Simon A. and Bertha Gallagher Bockes. On June 9, 1934, he was united in marriage to Mary M. VanVoorhis at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. The Bockes family had lived on the same farm in Palermo township 41 years. He was a member of the Alice Church of God, Conrad.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Richard D., Grundy Center; Robert, Eldora; and Roger of Grundy Center; also two sisters, Mrs. Orin (Vernie) Joyce and Mrs. Alberta Ralston of Grundy Center, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.

The Johnston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
