Mrs. Fred Fluth, a lifetime resident of Grundy county, died at her home seven miles southeast of Ackley at noon Monday. Mrs. Fluth had been in poor health since she suffered a stroke about five years ago, and her condition had been critical for the past two weeks before her death.

She was born Lamke Snittjer, daughter of Simon and Swantje Snittjer, in Grundy county December 20, 1878. She and Fred Fluth were married in 1900, and spent their married lives on the German township farm where she passed away Monday. Mr. Fluth died September 5, 1954.

Mrs. Fluth was a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, and a former teacher in its Sunday School.

Surviving are a son, Charley, and a daughter, Susie, who lived with her; two sisters, Mrs. Heiko Miller and Mrs. Charley Schultz, and a brother, John Snittjer, all of Ackley.

Mrs. Fluth was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Menno and Simon Snittjer; a sister, Mrs. John Miller (Jennie); a sister who died in early childhood in Germany; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Martin Ross and Mrs. Fred Smith.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. at the East Friesland Church, following prayer service for the family at the home. The Rev. C. F. Siemsen will officiate. Burial will be in the East Friesland cemetery. Mrs. Fluth's body will lie in state in the Fritz Funeral Home and then in the church from 11 a.m. today until time for the service.
