Lydia Meyeraan Services Held

Funeral services for Lydia Marie Meyeraan were held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Wellsbug, on Saturday, April 21, 1990, at 1 p.m. Pastor Richard L. Dowling officiated.

Eldon Harms sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden." He was accompanied by Mrs. Eldon Harms, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Jerry Oberender, Jim Oberender, Randy Murra, Kory Meyeraan, Justin Crocheck, Matthew Scholl, Kendall Meyeraan, Lance Spieker, Jason Crocheck, Kevin Oberender, Steve Oberender, Neilan Oberender, Chad Scholl, Curtis Murra and Marlyn Murra.

Art Jurchen and Ted Harms were ushers. Mrs. Edith Murra and Mrs. Mary Phillips were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Burial was in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Lydia Meyeraan, daughter of John and Charlotte Koch Harms, was born on August 12, 1912, in rural Wellsburg. She passed away at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, attaining the age of 77 years, eight months and four days.

She grew up in the Wellsburg area and attended rural schools.

On February 16, 1932, she was united in marriage to Frank Meyeraan at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg. They farmed around the Hubbard and Wellsburg areas and in 1982 moved into Wellsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; four brothers, I.J., John, Bill, George, and two sisters, Martha and Minnie.

Lydia is survived by three sons, Vernon of Hubbard, Frank Jr. of Wellsburg, and Gary of Wellsburg; six daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Rosella) Oberender of Jewell, JoAnn Meyeraan of Wellsburg, Mrs. Clarence (Harriet) Murra of Parkersburg, Mrs. Raymond (Charlene) Crocheck of Boone, Mrs. Lowell (Leona) Spieker of Farmer City, IL, and Mrs. Bill (Kayleen) Scholl of Carlisle; one sister, Charlotte Getting of Bolivar, MO; 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
