Funeral For Nedra Koch Held Thursday

Mrs. Nedra Koch passed away Monday afternoon, November 10, at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital in Marshalltown following a lingering illness.

She had been taken to the hospital on November 2 for treatment. She reached the age of 48 years, 3 months and 13 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nedra (Darrell) Koch were held on Thursday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church northeast of Wellsburg. Rev. Joseph Sibert was officiating pastor.

Mrs. Frank Meyeraan, Jr. was organist. She also accompanied the soloist, Eldon Harms. Flower attendants were Mrs. Arthur Nederhoff, Mrs. Darrell Breneman and Mrs. Eldon Harms.

Pall bearers were Carroll Stahl, Marvin Stahl, Allen Krull, Daryl Harrenstein, Gary Meyeraan, and Eldon Harms. Interment was held in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born on a farm east of Wellsburg on July 27, 1932, the daughter of Jake and Martha (Ibelings) Peters. She attended the Wellsburg School and graduated from high school with the class of 1950.

On October 27, 1962, she was united in marriage to Darrell Koch at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wellsburg by Pastor Peter Larsen. Following their marriage they lived in Wellsburg for two years, and then moved to their present farmstead, northeast of Wellsburg, where they have resided since.

Nedra was confirmed in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on December 1, 1963. She was the Sunday School Treasurer for many years.

She worked in Sentman's Grocery Store in Wellsburg for several years and later was a receptionist in Wellsburg for Drs. Kienzle and Peck; Drs. Meyer and LaPorte; Drs. Button and Patterson, and later at the Conrad Clinic in Conrad.

Preceding her in death were her father, Jake Peters on October 18, 1974, and a son, Matthew William Koch on May 27, 1963.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Darrell Koch; a son, Mark Koch, at home; her mother, Mrs. Martha Peters of Wellsburg; her brother, Harris J. Peters of Wellsburg, and many other relatives and friends.
