Carl Brower, 59, Holland, Rites Set Thursday

Carl Brower, 59, died early Monday at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo where he had been a patient since Saturday. He was taken there from the Grundy Hospital which he had entered last Wednesday.

Services have been set for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church northeast of Wellsburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home of Grundy Center is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brower was born July 21, 1910, in Colfax Township, Grundy County, son of Dick and Minnie Brower. He was married to Verdena Kaiser Sept. 15, 1937, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He had lived in or near Holland all of his life.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Holland Community Club.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Robert, Bernard and Charles; two daughters, Mary June and Nancy, all at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Minnie Stahl of Eldora; two brothers, Edwin of Holland and Calvin of Grundy Center; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Reisinger of Eldora and Mrs. Henry (Berdene) Graham of Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
