Minnie Potter Services Held

Mrs. Minnie Potter passed away around 11 o'clock on Thursday evening, June 23, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She had been a patient there since June 13th. She reached the age of 84 years, one month and 24 days.

Funeral services for Mrs. Potter were held on Saturday, June 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Second Christian Reformed Church. Pastor William Van Hal of Holland officiated at the services.

Mrs. Harold Okones and Mrs. Ivan Slifer sang two selections. Miss Monica Doyen was organist. Flower ladies were Mrs. Frank Geiken and Mrs. Stuart Ashby.

Pallbearers were Frank Geiken, Robert E. Lindaman, Harry Eckhoff, Clarence Geerdes, Henry D. Geerdes, and Elmer Fritzel. The interment service was held in Shiloh Cemetery.

Minnie was born in Wellsburg on April 29, 1899, the daughter of Dick and Aafka (Jaspers) Peters, and received her education in the Wellsburg Public School.

On August 19, 1919 she was married to Fred Potter at the First Christian Reformed Church parsonage by the Rev. H. C. Bode. Following their marriage they made their home in Wellsburg. This union was blessed with one daughter, Evelyn. Her husband passed away on November 4, 1964.

Mrs. Potter was a long-time member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg and was also a member of the Willing Workers Society at one time.

Preceding her in death were: her parents, her husband and an infant brother.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Jake G. Lindaman of Wellsburg; two grandsons, George Lindaman of Wellsburg and Dick Lindaman of Iowa City; two great-grandchildren, Amy and Jason Lindaman; a brothers, Harm Peters of St. Louis, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
