Dena Bunger Services Held
Dena Harms Bunger was born February 12, 1919 daughter of John and Grace (Hippen) Geiken, at the home farm north of Wellsburg. She passed away at 5:40 a.m. on December 3 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center of a stroke. She attained the age of 72 years, 9 months and 20 days.
Dena attended school at the German #7 school. On November 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Raymond G. Harms. To this union, there were eight children born. Raymond passed away in 1964. Dena married Lambert Bunger on December 7, 1973 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Wellsburg. Lambert passed away in 1988 and Dena inherited two step-children with this marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands and one son Arnold Lee.
She is survived by 7 children: Kenneth Harms, Wellsburg; Mrs. Douglas (Karen) Harms Sienknecht, Gladbrook; Mrs. Roger (Janice) Beeghly, Conrad; Allan Harms, Radcliff, Kentucky; Vernon Harms, Conrad; Donna Harms DeBoer, Holland; David Harms, Lincoln; two step-children, Kenny Bunger, Wellsburg, Audrey Bunger, Des Moines; one brother, Frank Geiken, Wellsburg, two sisters, Mrs. Abe (Edith) Murra, Wellsburg, and Mrs. John (Alice) Luchtenburg of Parkersburg; 20 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church with Rev. Verlyn D. Boone and Rev. Richard L. Dowling officiating. A private interment was held in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Geiken, Ron Luchtenburg, Clarence Murra, Duane Murra, Wendell Luchtenburg, and Leslie Harms.
The Doyen Abels Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
