Services Held Wednesday For Vivian Clark
Vivian E. Clark, 71, of Grundy Center passed away Monday evening, July 13, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Grundy Center.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert of Grundy Center; mother, Sadie Boren of Fort Meyers, FL; three sons, Ted of Cedar Falls, Bob of Grundy Center and Bill of Des Moines; one brother, Wayland Boren of Fort Meyers, FL; three sisters, Mrs. Gerry Hargis of Fayetteville, NC, Mrs. Donna Lauterbach of Waterloo and Mrs. Frances Pates of Minneapolis, MN; and by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.

Services Held For Vivian Clark, 71
Vivian E. Clark of Grundy Center passed away at 9:38 p.m. on Monday, July 13, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Grundy Center.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church, Grundy Center, on Wednesday, July 15, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor D. Ward Young officiated.
Musical interludes of "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden" were rendered by Mrs. Jack Stumberg, who also played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.
Grandsons serving as casket bearers were Bill Bruhn, Robert Erck, Tim Clark, Randy Phelps, Kevin Lange, Bob Clark, Tom Clark and Dan Clark.
The ushers were Don Palmer and Warren Feller. Mrs. William Sievert and Mrs. Roger Peters were in charge of the floral arrangements.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Grundy Center.
Relatives and friends were invited to return to the church following the committal services for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments.
Mrs. Clark was born on August 21, 1915, at Klemme, the daughter of Elza and Sadie Hemschoot Boren. She attained the age of 71 years, ten months and 22 days.
She grew up in Waverly and Grundy Center graduating from the Grundy Center High School in 1933.
On September 17, 1933, at Grundy Center, she was united in marriage to Delbert L. Clark. She lived all her married life in Grundy Center. On January 1, 1979, she became a resident of the Long Term Care Unit.
She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elza Boren; two brothers, La Verne and Gerald Boren; and one granddaughter, Susanne.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sadie Boren of Fort Meyers, Florida; Delbert of Grundy Center; three sons, Ted of Cedar Falls, Bob of Grundy Center and Bill of Des Moines; one brother, Wayland Boren of Fort Meyers, FL; three sisters, Mrs. Gerry Hargis, Fayetteville, NC, Mrs. Donna Lauterbach of Waterloo and Mrs. Frances Pates of Minneapolis, MN; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
