Clayton Ralston Dies In Virginia
Clayton Ralston died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Layton Henry, last Wednesday. Death came very suddenly from a heart attack. He had a heart condition for several years. He was 67 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Ralston had been visiting at their daughter's home in Virginia Beach, Va., during the past month.
The body was sent to the Engelkes funeral home in Grundy Center where funeral arrangements were made. Services were in the Bethany Presbyterian church, Grundy Center, Wednesday afternoon, at 1:30. The service was conducted by Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer. Burial was in the Alice church cemetery.
Mr. Ralston was born at Conrad, August 30, 1897, and he grew up there. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Ralston. On Dec. 24, 1918, Clayton Ralston and Ella Abels were married in Grundy Center. For a number of years they lived on a farm near Grundy Center. The past 27 years they resided on a farm north of Morrison.
Surviving are the wife, two sons and one daughter. The sons are Clarence, Garner, Iowa, and Maurell, Grundy Center. The daughter is Mrs. Henry. There are six surviving grandchildren and one brother, Mark, from Conrad.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters, by two children and one grandson. Others preceding him in death were his parents.
