H. H. Dreyer Sr. a pioneer and highly respected citizen of Aplington died at his home here Monday at 2:15 p.m. at the age of nearly eighty-one years. Old age and a general break down being the immediate cause of death. Funeral services are being held today from the Baptist church and interment being in the Pleasant view cemetery.

Heinrich H. Dreyer was born at Flacksmeer, Ostfriesland, Germany, December 14th 1826 and was married to Miss Gepke Willms in 1848. He came to America with his family in 1865 settling in Illinois, where they made their home until the fall of 1870 when they moved to Grundy County Iowa, where Mrs. Dreyer died April 26, 1882.--Aplington News
