Ralph W. Anderson, 92, of Creston, formerly of Grundy Center and Mesa, AZ, died February 18 at the Creston Nursing & Rehab Center. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Grundy Center.

Ralph W. Anderson, son of Nettie (Rierson) and Andrew Anderson, was born June 2, 1911. He graduated from Ringsted High School in 1928 and Iowa State University in 1933 with a degree in Industrial Science and Technical Journalism.

On June 17, 1939, he was united in marriage to Irene Humphry. For several years, Mr. Anderson edited the family newspaper, The Ringsted Dispatch. He returned to Iowa State University as editor of the Iowa Farm Economist and market editor of radio station WOI. Beginning in 1943, he served two years with the 102nd Infantry Division in Texas, New Jersey and Europe. In 1945, he became owner-publisher of the Farm Bureau Spokesman in Grundy Center, in 1970 he became director of Intergovernmental Relations for Region 7 in Kansas City, MO, retiring in 1975.

Survivors include one son; one daughter; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and an infant sister.
