Recent Stroke Causes Death Of Ben Grimmius

Ben Grimmius, 69, a well known resident of Grundy Center, died at his home Sunday morning at 3:00 a.m. He suffered a stroke about two weeks ago and has been in a critical condition since then.

Mr. Grimmius was born in the Netherlands, February 2, 1871, and emigrated to America when he was 24 years of age. Six years later he went back to Netherlands to marry Emma Hutt, and the couple came to Grundy County and started farming. Three years ago they retired and moved to Grundy Center.

Surviving are his widow and five children, Ben, Eltjo, Leeno and Mrs. Joe Noel of Grundy Center and John of Gladbrook. Six grandchildren also survive, besides two brothers in this country and one sister and brother in the Netherlands.

Funeral services are being held this (Wednesday) afternoon in Grundy Center.
