Old Time Resident Here Dies In South Dakota

Funeral services were held Monday, June 3rd, 1940 at White, South Dakota at the Methodist church for Wiard N. Tellinghuisen with Rev. H. R. Arms officiating. Mr. Tellinghuisen was born September 23, 1874 and came to America with his father, three sisters and one brother and settled in Grundy County, in 1889.

He was united in marriage to Bena deBuhr in 1897, living in Grundy County until 1905, when they moved to Brooking County, where they bought a farm near White. There they made their home until last fall, when he bought a home in White, leaving the farm in charge of one of the boys.

Early last spring Mr. Tellinghuisen was taken with a bad cold which left him with ear trouble. He spent some time in the hospital a number of times, and thought the trouble was corrected, but last week it was discovered that he had an abcess of the brain and was taken to St. Mary's hospital at Rochester, Minnesota, but died Thursday.

He is survived by his widow, three daughters, five sons, three sisters, one brother and a host of friends both in South Dakota and in the Wellsburg vicinity.
