Mr. George Eiten Dies After A Long Illness

George Eiten, aged fifty years, passed away at his home east of Steamboat Rock, at about 11:30 o'clock last Wednesday evening, following a lingering illness. He had been a resident of the vicinity for many years and had a large circle of friends who will sincerely grieve over his departure.

He is survived by two sisters, Gertie, Mrs. Geersema, and Dena, Mrs. H. Rindels, two nieces and one nephew, besides other relatives who are left to mourn his going.

Funeral services were held for the deceased on Saturday, at one o'clock from the home and at a later hour from the Second Christian Reformed church west of Wellsburg with the Rev. L. F. Voskuil having charge of the services.

George Eiten Dies

George Eiten, 50, died July 26 at his home near Steamboat Rock after an illness of more than a year. He was born Sept. 9, 1888, in Grundy county, only son of Lubbert and Ettje Eiten. His father preceded him in death in 1932 and his mother in 1937. His entire life was spent in this community. In 1926 he joined the Presbyterian church in Steamboat Rock.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Gertie Geersema and Mrs. Dena Rindles, 2 nieces and one nephew and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the home and later at the Voskuil church west of Wellsburg. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
