Dr. Kienzle's Rites Pending

Dr. William K. Kienzle, 42, prominent Longview anesthesiologist, who established a practice here in 1958, died of a heart attack late Thursday evening in a local hospital. After being stricken at his home, 703 Kay Drive, he was taken to Good Shepard Hospital where he underwent emergency heart surgery in hopes of reviving heart action.

Funeral services are pending at Rader Funeral Home.

A native of Gladbrook, Iowa, Dr. Kienzle grew up in Lincoln, Iowa. He was graduated with a M.D. degree from the University of Iowa Medical School, Iowa City. He practiced general medicine in Wellsburg, Iowa, before returning to the University of Iowa Medical School where he furthered his study of medicine, later completing residency in anesthesiology in University of Iowa hospital.

He was a member of Gregg County Medical Society, a member of Texas Medical Society and American Medical Association. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a member of Chi Alpha Omega fraternity.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jean Hull Kienzle, Longview; two sons, Kenny Kienzle and Dennis Kienzle, Longview; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Kienzle, Cedar Falls, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Vernie Goos, Lincoln , Iowa; three brothers, Dr. George Kienzle of Rock Valley, Iowa, Richard Kienzle of Duluth, Minn., and Harold Kienzle of Cedar Falls.

Longview, Tex.--Funeral services for Dr. William K. Kienzle, 42, who died unexpectedly Thursday in a local hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Rader Funeral Home, with Dr. Stephen L. Cook officiating.

Burial was in the Memory Park Cemetery.

Survivors are his widow; two sons, Kenny and Dennis Kienzle, both of Longview; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Kienzle of Cedar Falls, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Vernie Goos of Lincoln, Iowa; three brothers, Dr. George Kienzle, Rock Valley, Iowa, Richard Kienzle of Duluth, Minn., and Harold Kienzle of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Former Wellsburg Physician Dies in Longview, Texas

Funeral services were held Sunday at Longview, Texas for Dr. William Kienzle, 42, former Wellsburg physician, who died Thursday evening of a heart attack at Longview. Burial was in Longview.

Dr. Kienzle grew up in the Lincoln community and graduated from the State University of Iowa. He had served two years in the army before entering practice at Wellsburg. He practiced in Wellsburg from 1947 to 1955.

Surviving are his wife and two sons; six children by a former wife; William of Cedar Falls; Mary, a student at St. Luke's Nursing School in Cedar Rapids; Joan, Sandra, Steven and Miekka, all of Wellsburg; his parents, three brothers and one sister.
