Funeral Services For Evert E. Ross To be Held Friday
Funeral Services for Evert E. Ross, 56, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church west of Wellsburg. Rev. Bernard Visscher will be officiating clergyman. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Mr. Ross passed away about 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines from cancer. On December 18th he had been taken to the hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Francis Shupek of East Lansing, Michigan and Mrs. Donald Stephan of Reinbeck; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Bakker and Mrs. Ebbo Heikens both of Wellsburg; Mrs. Rena Miller of Dike; Mrs. Dena Harms of Wellsburg, Mrs. Heike Miller of Marshalltown; two brothers, Albert E. Ross of Eldora and Willie Ross of Crystal Lake.

Funeral Services For Evert E. Ross Held Friday p.m.
Funeral services for Evert E. Ross were held Friday, April 19, in the First Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Bernard Visscher officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
A quartet composed of Richard Schafer, Melvin Haupt, Arnold Eiten and Larry Riebkes sang "Does Jesus Care" and "Going Down the Valley". Mrs. Henry VandeVoort Jr. was organist and Doris Haupt pianist.
Mrs. Chris Muller and Mrs. Herman DeVries were the flower ladies.
Pallbearers were Gratus Mudderman, Edward Miller, Evert Heikens, Willard Riekena, Evert L. Bakker, Meint Bakker.
Military Graveside services were conducted by the World War I Veterans, American Legion and American Amvet Posts.
Evert E. Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evert A. Ross, was born on April 14, 1907, in Shiloh Township, four miles northwest of Wellsburg. He attended the rural school in the area. He later married Louise Gerloff and to them two daughters were born, Elvena and Lois.
Mr. Ross served four years in the navy during World War II after which he returned to Wellsburg.
He was taken to Veterans Hospital in Des Moines on December 18, 1962, suffering from cancer and complications of a stroke and died around 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1963. He had reached the age of 66 years and two days.
Preceding him in death were: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evert A. Ross; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Bakker, Mrs. Meint Mudderman, Mrs. Bertha Riekena, and two who died in infancy.
Surviving are: two daughters; (Elvena) Mrs. Francis Shupek of East Lansing, Michigan; (Lois) Mrs. Donald Stephan of Reinbeck; five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Anna Bakker, Wellsburg; (Minnie) Mrs. Ebbo Heikens, Wellsburg; Mrs. Rena Miller, Dike; Albert E. Ross, Eldora; Willie Ross, Crystal Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Dena Harms, Wellsburg; (Tena) Mrs. Heike Miller, Marshalltown, and four grandchildren.
