August Ascher Fails To Recover Health

Succumbs to Pneumonia at 29 Years--Funeral Services Today (Thursday)

August Heinrich Ascher died at the family home, three and a half miles northeast of Wellsburg, at 6:50 o'clock Monday evening, March 10, 1930, after an illness of about three months.

The deceased was in a weakened condition, from tonsilitis, complicated by an attack of lobar pneumonia. He was in a critical condition for several weeks previous to his death, and at times seemed to be gaining strength, only to again suffer a relapse. The end finally came last Monday evening.

The deceased was the eldest son, being born November 3, 1900, his death occurring March 10, 1930, making his age at the time of his passing 29 years, 4 months and 2 days. He was unmarried.

The deceased was born and grew to manhood in this vicinity. He was an industrious worker, quiet and friendly in manner, cheerful and obliging with everyone. His untimely death will be regretted by all who knew him, and his bereaved relatives have the sympathy of all in their loss.

Left to mourn his untimely death are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ascher, four sisters, Mildred, Hattie and Tena, and Mrs. Chris Finke, of Buck Grove; four brothers, Peter and Harry, living at home, and Henry, Jr., and John, living in this neighborhood.

The funeral was held Thursday, March 13th, with services at the house at 1 o'clock and later at the St. Paul's Lutheran church northeast of Wellsburg. Rev. C. Heinrich officiating. Burial was made in the Lutheran cemetery.

The pallbearers were Harm K. Hayenga, Fred Wubbens, Trienus Boomgaarden, George John Lutterman, John Wubbens and Jake H. Peters.
