Mrs. Brinkman Died at the Asylum at Independence
Seventy-seven years of age, the last two years having been a ward in the asylum for the insane at Independence, Mrs. Brinkman died there Friday, and the remains were sent here for interment. She did not regain her reason.
Mrs. Brinkman was one among the very first to establish a home on the Grundy prairies; she came with her husband in the 60's, and for many years lived south of town. Her husband committed suicide a number of years ago; his body was found at the bottom of an unused well.
Mrs. Brinkman is survived by three sons, John, Henry and Jerry, residing near Rowan, Iowa, and who are here to do the last sad honor to a mother. The remains are at the home of Mrs. Slight. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday from the school house in district No. 4, German township.
There are also three daughters by a former marriage.
Rev. Belzer will officiate.
