Jacob B. Rindels Passed Away Saturday

Jacob B. Rindels passed away to his eternal reward Saturday, January 15, 1955 at about 1:15 a.m. at the Reiner's Convalescent Home in Dumont, Iowa, having reached the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 24 days. He was born on June 21, 1872.

Mr. Rindels was born in Emden, Germany of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rindels. He came to this country at the age of 16 years. He was married to Jennie Harrenstein in 1893, and he and his wife began farming near Wellsurg. They continued farming until 1927 when they retired to live in Wellsburg. On November 13, 1932 Mrs. Rindels passed on to her eternal reward. Mr. Rindels continued to live in Wellsburg until 1943 after which he made his home with his children until about two years ago when he entered the Reiner's Convalescent Home in Dumont, Iowa.

Those who preceded him in death were his wife, three brothers, and one sister.

He leaves to mourn seven children. They are: Mrs. Joe Arends of Parkersburg; Jake Rindels of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Jake Alberts of Parkersburg; Herman Rindels of Dike; Richard Rindels of Bristow; Mrs. Herman Akkerman of Grundy Center, and Harold Rindels of Parkersburg. Twenty-seven grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and one brother Hilbrandte Rindels of Steamboat Rock, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 1955 at the home of Joe Arends of Parkersburg, and later in the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. M. Weeldreyer of the Trinity Reformed church of Allison was in charge of the service and Rev. Geo. C. Poppen of the Reformed Church of Wellsburg assisting. Interment was made in the Wellsburg Reformed cemetery.

Pall bearers were Roy Alberts, Eldon Rindels, Laverne Rindels, Alvin Rindels, Marlyn Arends and Donald Akkerman.
