Mrs. John Krull Sr. Dies Friday At University Hospital

Mrs. John Krull Sr. died at 10 a.m. Friday morning, September 16, 1955 in the University hospital at Iowa City of heart failure. She had been taken to the hospital Friday, August 26 where she later submitted to surgery. She reached the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 10 days.

Mrs. John Krull Sr., nee Minnie Abbas was born on February 6, 1880 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Abbas in Germany. On March 3, 1902 she was united in holy wedlock to John Krull Sr. by the Rev. H. Schmidt, pastor of the East Friesland Presbyterian church at the home of her parents northwest of Wellsburg. Following their marriage the couple resided on a farm near Faulkner, then moving to Cleves and later they farmed near Wellsburg for one year before moving to their present home where they resided for the past 46 years.

To this union were born 9 children. Surviving are the husband and 7 children. They are George of Parkersburg; John Jr. of Wellsburg; Jane, Mrs. Russell Holcomb of Eldora; Irene, Mrs. Charles Dunn of Algona; Grace, Mrs. Clark Trailer of Vallejo, California; Alfred and Aeilt both of Wellsburg. The deceased was preceded in death by her parents, a son Henry on April 13, 1942 and an infant son, Aeilt who died when two years of age, 2 brothers, Aeilt Abbas and Dick Abbas of Renville, Minnesota, two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Decknadel of Renville and Mrs. Grace Decknadel of Hector, Minn. also survive as well as 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the home and later at the Second Christian Reformed Church. Rev. J. H. Olthoff officiated at the services. Pall bearers were Lee Etjen, Tyle Huisman, Henry Hippen, Bryan Huisman, Conrad Weichers, and John T. Riekena. Interment was made in the Shiloh cemetery.
