Kristine D. Ash, 44, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Grundy Center, IA. Burial will follow immediately after the funeral service at Rose Hill Cemetery Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church Grundy Center for Kristine's children.

Kristine Danielle Ash was born February 12, 1968 in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Fran (Mowery) Thompson. She was raised by Fran and John Ash. Kristine grew up in the Grundy Center area. She received her education in Grundy Center and graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1986. Kristine continued her education at Hamilton Business College.

Kristine worked many jobs in the retail business before her health forced her to stop working.

Kristine loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Kristine is survived by her children, Johna, Lawson and Kantin Ash; her mother, Fran Ash of Grundy Center; Sibling, Randy(Karen) Thompson, Dotti Thompson both of Grundy Center, Brenda Baker of Iowa Falls, Lance Thompson of Storm Lake, and Rhonda Brand of Bloomingdale, NJ.; fiancée, Jerry Thacker of Grundy Center and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Thompson, step-father, John Ash and her grandparents.
