Jessie Finke, 98, of Wellsburg, died June 12 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. Funeral services were June 16 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Jessie was born March 24, 1905, in rural Wellsburg, the daughter of Eike and Trientje (Luppen) Ruter. Jessie attended Shiloh #6 rural country school as a youngster. On December 27, 1947, Jessie was united in marriage to Ebe Finke at the Wellsburg Reformed Church parsonage. They lived on a farm in rural Wellsburg and after retiring in 1974, they moved to town. Ebe died May 19, 1992. Jessie enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Emma deNeui of Wellsburg, Alice Ruter of Wellsburg and Edith Beck of Des Moines; one brother, John Ruter of Wellsburg; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Schmidt of Ackley, Edna Meyer of Holland and Carrie Muller of Humboldt.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Herman, Fred, Peter, and Eike Ruter; and four sisters, Lena Heinrich, Gertie Rieken, Grace Meyer and Hilda Lindaman.
