John Koppedreyer, Lifelong Resident Of This Area, Dies

John Koppedreyer, 74, a lifelong resident of Butler county, died Thursday, January 20, at Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo, where he had been a patient for several weeks, following a stroke.

Funeral services were held Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Fritz Funeral Chapel and at 1 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church east of Ackley, with burial in the Westfriesland Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rev. K. Tebbens was the officiating minister.

Mr. Koppedreyer was born in Butler county, six miles east of Ackley, February 14, 1880. He was married to Gertie Abbas on February 24, 1904, and they lived on a farm adjoining the one where he was born and spent his boyhood. Mrs. Koppedreyer preceded him in death April, 1937.

They were the parents of four daughters, who survive him: Mrs. Siebe Arends, Mrs. Harry Rotgers, of Ackley; Mrs. John Abkes, Iowa Falls; Mrs. Louis Betten, Ogden, Utah. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one brother, George Koppedreyer of Aplington.
