Services for Ben Stubbe Held Monday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church for Ben Stubbe, who succumbed to a heart attack at his home on Friday. The Rev. Frank C. Kroll conducted the rites, following prayer service at the Fritz Funeral Home. Burial was in the West Friesland cemetery.

Mr. Stubbe, the son of Theodore (Tiddo) and Kordina Stubbe, was born in the Netherlands February 20, 1884. He came to the United States when he was nine years old.

On March 3, 1909, he and Martha Harken were united in marriage, and they have lived in this community since. For twenty years of their married life they lived on a farm two miles south of Ackley and in 1946, moved into town.

Mr. Stubbe was a faithful member of St. John's E. and R. church.

Surviving him are his wife; three children, Mrs. Frank Fritz, (Cora), Irvin and Elbridge Stubbe, all of Ackley; four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Rose Harken of Aplington and Mrs. Hermina VanHeiden of Ackley; two brothers, Henry Stubbe and Cornie Mooi, both of Ackley.
