Funeral services for Charles E. Starr were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church, Rev. Gideon Wolbrink officiated.

Mrs. W. D. Murray was soloist accompanied by Miss Marcella Neessen, pianist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Wm. H. Lindaman and Mrs. Tyle Huisman.

Pallbearers were Stanley O'Kones, Raymond Riebkes, Don Geerdes, Sherwood Snittjer, Aeilt Krull and Thomas Claassen.

Interment was in the Steamboat Rock Cemetery.

Charles Edwin Starr passed away shortly after 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, December 14, 1968 at the Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls due to uremic poisoning. He had entered the hospital on the previous Wednesday afternoon for treatment. He reached the age of 55 years, 10 months and 9 days.

He was born on a farm in Hardin County north of Steamboat Rock on February 5, 1913, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Starr (nee Mary Shadduck). He attended the Steamboat Rock School. On March 2, 1936 he was united in marriage to Miss Ordean Harrenstein. Following their marriage they lived in Steamboat Rock. They lived in Ellsworth, Iowa and in 1948 moved to Wellsburg.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ordean, 1 daughter (Darlys), Mrs. Richard Rothert of Des Moines; 1 son Kirk, at home; and 1 granddaughter, Lisa Laine Rothert.
