Rites Wednesday For Mrs. Rudolph Hook

Funeral services for Mrs. Rudolph Hook were Wednesday, August 26, 1964, at 1:30 p.m. in the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, preceded by a prayer service at the Engelkes Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Straatmeyer officiating. Burial in the Colfax Center cemetery.

Weja Raske, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raske, was born in Germany, Nov. 1, 1883. She came to Grundy county in 1904, and was married to Rudolph Hook June 2, 1909.

They farmed in Colfax township until retiring to Grundy Center 16 years ago. She had been in failing health for the past few years, and on April 26 she and her husband went to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to be with one of their daughters. Four weeks ago she became a patient at the Kenosha Memorial Hospital, where she died at 3:00 p.m., August 22, 1964, at the age of 80 years, 9 months, 21 days.

She was a member of Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters and two sons; Harm R. Hook, Grundy Center; Mrs. LaVerne Murray, Kenosha, Wis.; Mrs. Charles MacArthur, Wood Dale, Illinois; Harry Hook, Albuquerque, New Mex.; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
