Leola Kuper, 95, of Ackley, died on Monday, May 21, 2007, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 23, at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley, with burial in the church cemetery. The Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley is in charge of the arrangements.

Leola was born on June 12, 1911, on the family farm in Grundy County, the daughter of Charles and Marion (Folkerts) Neymeyer. She attended the German Township School.

On June 22, 1939, she was united in marriage to Folkert M. Kuper. She moved into town in 1974, after living on the farm since 1940. Leola was a member of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church.

Leola is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Lindaman and husband, Gary of Ackley and Marlys Wessels and husband, Jack of Ackley; a son, Leroy Kuper and wife, Marlene of Ackley; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Kuper of Ackley; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Neymeyer of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lucile Murra of Greenfield; a brother, Harvey Muller and wife, Margaret of Iowa Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Folkert; a son, Ronald F. Kuper; a brother, Benjamin Neymeyer and Merle in infancy; a grandson, Jeffrey Lindaman; and a granddaughter, Heather Crotty.
