George Paul Nederhoff, 71, of Maxwell, Iowa died at his home Tuesday evening, February 12, 2002.

Mr. Nederhoff was born May 24, 1930 near Wellsburg, Iowa the son of Odie and Eita (Bunger) Nederhoff. He was united in marriage to Donna Fritzel on July 2, 1950 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. George graduated from the Wellsburg High School and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. He had farmed for 32 years near Wellsburg and then worked for Surge Dairy Equipment. He also worked for Mid American Dairyman in Des Moines before retiring. For the past five years, George had worked for Wal Mart in Ankeny. He was a member of the Baxter Evangelical Free Church and a former 4-H leader in Grundy County where he also served for many years on the Grundy County Fair Board. George enjoyed yard work, water gardening, fish and birds, woodworking and crocheting afghan quilts.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of Maxwell; a son and daughter-in-law: George, Jr. and Dixie Nederhoff of Sumner, Iowa; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Nederhoff of Wellsburg, Iowa, Marvin Nederhoff of Grundy Center, Iowa; and a sister: Pearl Van Soelen of Ames, Iowa. He also leaves behind his dog and faithful companion, Bitsy.

His parents and a brother, Arthur preceded him in death.
